Late February

Warmer mornings begin with fog blanketing the marsh. Last year's marsh grass is making way for new green shoots. Every cedar branch drips and every blade of grass glistens with beads of dew. Spring has arrived on the Georgia coast. Turtles and alligators are climbing to there favorite sunning spots in the ponds to absorb the warmth of the spring sun. It's not unusual to see turtles and small gators positioned nose to tail as they enjoy the sun. One of the best places to observe these critters in these laughable positions is Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge.
